Data Storytelling at GRC

In response to the evaluations from Staff Development Day (Term 3) the GRC Professional Learning team developed a consistent approach to data storytelling at GRC. An agreed template was developed and shared as part of professional learning at each campus for the final staff development days.

Each member of staff was asked to analyse a data source of their choosing and triangulate with at least 2 other sources. They looked at the strengths, challenges and gaps in the data to develop their data story. Specific steps were identified to make adjustments to personal practice, teaching and learning programs or approaches to planning.

Staff appreciated the provision of time to dig deep into their data and then communicate their findings to colleagues. Further, they acknowledged the benefits to staff and students of a coordinated, consistent approach to data storytelling.
