The teaching staff from across the college met at Oatley Campus on 20 October 2022 for the Semester 2 College Team Meeting.
Staff welcomed the opportunity to collaborate face to face with their faculty colleagues. Evaluation from the Term 3 Staff Development Day on Using Data to Inform Practice was shared as well as enhancements made to our processes and practices for transition to Stage 6.
Key Learning Area Coordinators led their teams to share best practice as they strive to successfully enact their agreed data plans aligned to the Georges River College Improvement Plan. Feedback from staff was overwhelmingly positive as shown by the samples below.
What did you learn at the meeting?
- Various ideas from the middle campuses. Reinforced how different my situation is, but also how important it is that we work together.
- Sharing data and resources would be a gain for all. Data can be used to improve learning outcomes across the college. There are readily available resources for numeracy online.
- Continued to develop the science skills matrix, particularly numeracy skills for tables and graphs.
- How effective the implemented LiSc strategies have been so far and what we will put into action this term as a result.
How will you use it?
- I will use it to better support students and my role within the school, as well as support staff.
- Very useful to form connections with other TLs. Networking is extremely important in this domain.
- I will take some of the information on board to implement in my lessons. Eg. Using exit slips at the end of assessment tasks.
- To analyse my resources and to use data to support the teaching and learning.
